Throughout his career, he has specialized in the labor practice, focusing on legal advice to companies in matters of individual and collective labor law, legal validation of human resources policies, training lectures on labor matters, compensation plans and litigation in highly complex labor cases.
He is a member of Icare’s People and Organization Committee as well as a board director of several companies.
In collective bargaining matters, he participates directly in corporate advisory committees, both sitting at the negotiating table and in the drafting of documents.
Previously, he was partner of the labor law firms UH&C (2016 to 2018) and Canales Parga Abogados Laborales, currently GNP_Canales (2018 to 2022).
He is part of the Labor Directorate’s roster of arbitrators for the settlement of mandatory arbitrations (since 2018), having an active participation in these. Over the last years, Sebastian has been recognized as one of the leading lawyers in the labor area by the prestigious ranking Chambers & Partners (2021 – 2022 – 2023 – 2024 – 2025), The Legal 500, and Best Lawyers. In the 2021 and 2024 editions of Leading Lawyers, he was mentioned as the best labor/collective negotiation lawyer under 45, in the eleventh edition of Leading Lawyers, the first Chilean legal ranking developed by Idealis Legal Recruitment in collaboration with Diario Financiero. In 2023, the Business Today platform included him in the top ten most influential lawyers in labor practice in Chile, distinguishing him for his experience in collective negotiations and relationships with unions.
